Our support for a work assignment in India

We at the Rajendra and Ursula Joshi Foundation (JCF), Freienbach SZ, understand that the decision to work in Jaipur, India, raises many questions and is a challenge in many ways. With JCF, you have an employer at your side who knows all the relevant subject areas. Our aim is to make the move to India as smooth as possible for you so that you can concentrate fully on your job.

Our philosophy for your work assignment in India

Our philosophy is that you do not have to worry about any tax, labor or social security issues. We will arrange the appropriate visa for your entry and stay in India, provide you with a suitable apartment and take care of all other organizational matters for you. You should feel well looked after so that you can devote yourself to your work undisturbed by administrative duties.

Application for visa and stay in India

We take your wishes and personal framework conditions into account. Together with the type and duration of your planned work activity, we will explain the options for entering and staying in India. In principle, we offer two options, namely a secondment a) with deduction of the Indian withholding tax (so-called “Withholding Tax, WHT”) or b) without deduction of Indian withholding tax. The Indian tax year runs from April 1 to March 31 of the following year and is decisive for calculating the permitted period of stay in India.

Taxes and social security

We support you in all tax and social security matters in connection with working in India. In principle, Swiss nationals and foreign nationals with a permanent residence permit (C permit) continue to be subject to Swiss AHV, IV, accident and health insurance legislation while working in India. They therefore remain in the Swiss social security system.

Duration of stay in India

The duration of your stay in India depends on various factors – your availability and capabilities as well as the assignment requirements as per our job description. We will discuss the constellation with you and submit our proposal. See also “Application for visa and residence in India”.

Other organizational support

We plan and organize everything for your work and stay in India. These include, for example Flights Switzerland-India-Switzerland (four flights per year), pick-up at the airport in Jaipur, accommodation in an apartment in Jaipur (equipped with at least two bedrooms, a living room and two bathrooms), transportation service between the apartment and the workplace, etc.

Vacation in India

The special feature of the work location in India is to enable you to spend vacation days in India to experience and get to know the country and its people. However, the vacation entitlement must not disproportionately reduce the legally permitted days of stay in India according to the visa. Therefore, please contact us in good time so that your interests and ours are taken into account.

Requirements for an application

You are a Swiss citizen or a foreigner with a permanent residence permit (C permit) and have a good command of written and spoken English, which qualifies you for a teaching/training position in India. You also have several years of professional experience and experience as a vocational trainer for inter-company courses (ÜK) or as a specialist teacher with appropriate pedagogical training.

They may not be interested in working in India, but have extensive experience in preparing training and educational materials. Contact us and we will check with you whether there is an opportunity to work in Switzerland.
