Training in the hotel and tourism sector covers all areas of the industry, namely hotels, tour operators, catering, maintenance work, etc.
The hotel and tourism industry offers a wide range of employment opportunities worldwide. In this sector in particular, students have the opportunity to gain an international foothold. The demand for services in this sector is constantly increasing and a high standard of quality is expected. This factor increases the need for specialists who are able to manage hotel operations and lead teams.
In the basic courses, students learn about the areas of housekeeping, kitchen, service and administration. Practical training in all areas consolidates the trainees’ manual skills and knowledge. It is important to us that students have a chance of finding a good job on the international job market after completing their training.
Goals
- Apply what you have learned in theory lessons in practice
- Gain a comprehensive overview of the workflows and processes in the upscale hotel and restaurant industry
- Develop and apply leadership qualities
Semester
- 1./3. and 5th semester full-time training at the BSDU (80% practice, 20% theory)
- 2./4. and 6th semester in the industry. Scholarships from companies possible.
Degrees
(Entry and exit possible after each semester)
- Certificate (6 months)
- Diploma (12 months)
- Advanced diploma (24 months)
- Bachelor’s degree in vocational training (36 months)
Career opportunities
During their training, students gain an in-depth insight into all professions in the hotel and tourism industry. You will be able to work in reception, housekeeping, kitchen and service and, with a higher degree, take on the role of supervisor or hotel manager. It is also possible for them to set up and run their own company with the skills they have learned.
