In brief
The school has a spacious building with modern classrooms and laboratories where students can receive both theoretical and practical training. Appropriate practical training is provided at the open building yard on campus to get a feel for the work on site. There they learn about the tools, materials and construction methods as well as all the safety precautions required to achieve a high-quality result. Students are also trained on laboratory equipment to perform quality control tests to inspect materials and workmanship on site during construction and to verify compliance with acceptance criteria for finished products.
Semester
- 1./3. and 5th semester full-time training at the BSDU (80% practice, 20% theory)
- 2./4. and 6th semester in the industry. Scholarships from companies possible.
Degrees
(Entry and exit possible after each semester)
- Certificate (6 months)
- Diploma (12 months)
- Advanced diploma (24 months)
- Bachelor’s degree in vocational training (36 months)
Career opportunities
Today, the construction industry in India is the second largest employer after agriculture and employs around 35 million people. In addition, globalization in India has led to the construction industry adopting the latest technologies in both materials and construction methods, ensuring a growing demand for top quality workmanship.
According to the Construction Skill Development Council, the career paths can be roughly categorized as follows – construction manager structure, construction manager assembly, construction manager completion, construction manager fabrication, construction manager electrical work, construction manager plant and machinery, construction manager storekeeper, quality technician, construction manager EHS (environment, health and safety). Career opportunities exist in large construction companies, in entrepreneurship and in self-employment.
Infrastructure and equipment
The school will have a modern, fully functional office for the students’ practical work. It will have well-equipped laboratories and intelligent classrooms. Students have the opportunity to work on construction-related projects. We offer support for internships and placement.
