The new School for Metal Construction Skills in Bhartiya Skill Development University will offer a range of skilled courses pertaining to fabrication and processing of metal parts for component manufacturing integrated with the science and technology. The graduates will be trained to the highest level of quality standards under this professional industrial education under supervision of Swiss Trainers. 

Rise in infrastructure development and automotive production are driving growth in the metal processing and manufacturing sectors in India. The country also has a fair advantage in cost of production and labor. Under this rapidly expanding manufacturing sector in India, there is an increasing demand for skilled professionals. The BSDU Metal Construction School offers students a comprehensive training in different metal processing domains which include sheet metal fabrication together with different high end joining and welding techniques. The students will also be introduced to metal forming processes such as rolling, bending, forging, deep drawing etc. The core element of the training is on fabrication and welding various grades of steel and aluminum alloys for different structural constructions. The school believes that there is also a need for academics and research in the field of metal construction and fabrication to develop pragmatic solutions that are accessible to our industrial partners to address critical fabrication problems. The school is presently offering B. Voc program.

OBJECTIVES
  • Be able to initiate his/her own businesses and start-ups.Be prepared in the various facets (quality control, sheet metal processing, welding, materials selection, production control) of the welding industry for employment in heavy industry, manufacturing and repair.
  • Be a trained professional meeting the standards of NSQF Level 7 and become a specialist in at least one job role in the field of Metal Construction.
  • Be able to pass certification tests as administered by Indian Institute of Welding (IIW) and American Welding Society (AWS) Officials.
  • Be able to initiate his/her own businesses and start-ups.
  • Be able to apply all the basic principles, theories and safety procedures that meet current welding industry standards.
  • Be able to apply all the principles and features of professional work ethics in any work environment.
  • Be able to participate to organization growth and continuous improvement.

SEMESTERS
  • I, III and V Semester in BSDU, fulltime training 80% practical, 20% theory
  • II, IV and VI Semester in Industries Stipend by companies possible

INFRASTRUCTURE AND EQUIPMENT
The school of metal construction skills has a wide range of welding and cutting equipment to handle all types of welding depending on the type of production. The availability of such varied equipment ensures that all welding requirements are met. The welding equipment available at the school could be used for training and demonstrations to produce specialized equipment used in ultra-high vacuum (UHV), steam, cryogenics, automotive, and others.
